Singapore｜Tien Lai Rice Stall (天來飯店)

The duck is one of the best I have eaten! Crispy skin, juicy meats, succulent all around and pairs will with the different chillis. Got fatty bits which some may or may not like... Roast duck and char siew pale slightly sightly in comparison with the duck. Rice is also not bad with the gravy. Will come to eat again if the queue is not so long.

Even at 9.30am on a weekday and raining to boot, there was already a queue all the way to the elevator. Bought mix of char siew, roast pork belly and roast duck. The char siew is more KL styled which is sweeter and more charred. Goes very well with the sour chicken rice chilli sauce. The roast pork was a bit too fatty for my liking but the crackling was very crispy. Roast duck was smoky and juicy. But I think the MVP must be their rice. Here you get chicken flavoured rice instead of plain rice. It goes so well with their chilli sauce that is so piquant and pack just the right amount of heat. Pro tip: if you want duck drumsticks, you’d better come early or call ahead to reserve. These run out very quickly cause there are a lot of orders for half and whole ducks.

Queue is always long on weekdays due to working lunch crowd so go before 12 if possible! All their meats are fantastic - be it roast pork, roast duck or char siew. Recommended and the stall is facing the back of the Taman Jurong hawker center.
