West side foodie alert, if you are looking for old school prawn noodle and laksa, Heng Heng Cooked Food is a stall not to be missed when you are at Jurong East Yuhua Market. For $5, you can expect to find a generous portion of the yellow noodles mixed with bee hoon, bean sprouts, fish cake, prawns, kang kong and their chilli. What I like about them: The prawn broth is flavorful and thick, nice sweetness in the broth which comes from the prawns and possibly pork bones or pork loin. Their chilli paste has this really nice dried Shrimp taste and you can add on some chilli pads if you wanna add on some heat. Generous bowl of noodles and bee hoon and their kang kong. You can easily find 5 to 6 slice of Prawns in your prawn noodle. The final touch will be the fried scallions on their noodle. $5 for all the introduction above, damn worth it. Evaluation: Taste: Five out of five stars Look: Five out of five stars Price: Five out of stars Verdict: Definitely a GEM in the West and will be back again for their prawn noodle and also their laksa. See a lot of good reviews on it.

If you love thick, creamy Laksa, then this is the best stall to go to for your Laksa fix when in the West. So yummy, it is now listed in Singapore Michelin Bib Gourmand Selection. Stall accepts QR Pay. Queues are super long, so expect a 30-minute queue (12-18 pax) on weekends but the uncle and auntie team is quite efficient. There is no upselling, it’s $3.00 for a large, generous bowl of yummy Laksa. Highly recommended!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Laksa (medium for $4 with $1 for extra hum) - a good portion of largish, fresh, juicy cockles, which had the flavour of the sea. The tau pok was good and there were a few small prawns.
