Malacca, Malaysia｜Hui Brother Restaurant (Chinese Cuisine) 輝哥中餐館huī gē zhōngcānguǎn

It’s probably the best Chinese restaurant that I’ve tried in Melaka with surprisingly delicious food at the fringe of the city. It’s an award winning restaurant. Its prices are good of value for the quality for now as it’s not discovered by tourists yet especially the Singaporean ones. It’s a small place with no many tables. It’s almost impossible to reserve a table during weekends, so make your reservation early. Loved the food and will certainly return there to try other dishes too in my next trip to Melaka.

Lard fried rice evokes childhood memories, recalling the situation at home at the time, I am already satisfied to eat this rice. The rice exudes a strong lard aroma, which makes people's index fingers move. The store's homemade Jinsha tofu is very dense, and it melts in the mouth when eaten, and it is not too salty. The iced Guluo pork here is a must-try! I once watched Luo Jiaying cook this dish in the movie "The House of Gold and Jade", and thought that this exaggerated food was just a movie party. After seeing the menu, I realized that it is also available in real life. Thumbs up! The sweetness and sourness of Gu Lao meat is just right, the texture of the meat will not be hard, and the powder will not cover the taste of the meat. One bite, it feels like it is bursting. This is the Gu Lao meat I have eaten in other restaurants. phenomenon that does not exist. The flesh of the osmanthus fish is very fresh, and the sweet and sour taste is just right. Although the green bean sprouts are usually stir-fried, the chef stirs the bean sprouts just right, so the bean sprouts will not be too mushy and will not have an uncooked taste, which is great! The smoked chicken has a strong aroma. After being smoked, the chicken will not lose moisture, and the meat is still fresh and sweet. Overall, I think the taste is good and the price is fair.

Came here to celebrate our mum’s birthday. All the dishes were exceptional, especially the pork lard rice and sweet & sour pork! Must order!! The staff also helped to celebrate our mum’s birthday. Very nice gesture :) thank you for making our mum happy.
