Spices Garden offers a comfortable, air-conditioned, buffet style dining experience. Their menu comprises Northern and Southern Indian cuisine. South Indian Cuisine is available from morning to about 3pm, after which North Indian fare ( the chef is from Bombay! ) takes over for the rest of the day. Roti Canai and the usual breakfast variety are also being served during tea-time. One is greeted with an array of rice and mouth-watering side dishes as one strolls into the restaurant. Those trays of food are so inviting and hard to resist! You will be automatically drawn towards them! Both vegetarians and meat lovers would have no trouble finding what they need here. A few eye-pleasing earthen pots are filled with different varieties of curry or gravy, Dhal and Rasam. For example, one particular pot has gravy with vegetables like chunks of potatoes, tomatoes, etc. Another earthen pot has curry with 5 or 6 types of blended vegetables in it. Labels with the names of the curry are placed in front of the pots to distinguish each and every variety. I guess it is a haven for vegetarians! There are two trays of white rice available. One tray is filled with common white rice. The other tray of white rice has less sugar content and is understandably more expensive. However, they would do well to increase the number of dishes available, especially the meaty ones. It would be nice to have more choices. They serve Naan only from about 1.30pm onwards. As my foodie friend ( let's call her G ) and I had arrived earlier, we had to give it a miss. We were eagerly hoping to try the popular Cheese Naan! G had turmeric flavoured cabbage, beetroot and Mutton Curry with rice. I had the same cabbage, okra and Mustard Chicken Curry with rice. G commented that her Mutton Curry was texturally tendony. It was certainly rich and strong in flavour! The beetroot, well, simply tasted like beetroot! 😁 This Mustard Chicken Curry was amazing! The gravy was moderately thick, creamy and infused with a wonderful, complex blend of spices and aromatic ingredients. I simply had to get a bowl just to fill it up with the delicious gravy! The okra was lightly spicy and slightly gravy-ly creamy too! In fact, the cabbage and the okra alone can be eaten with rice as they are so flavourful. In general, the food is somehow, not overly spicy, which is good for people with lighter taste buds. And the Minty Rasam was so good! The best part is I didn't even know there was mint in it until the boss mentioned it! And I like it this way! I finished off my meal with a satisfying cup of hot Kopi Tarik. But G said that her Teh O Ais Limau was too "light" or lacking in taste. The friendly boss, Mr. Steven proudly proclaimed that their food is MSG free! He very kindly and patiently explained to me what the gravy and dishes are made up of for the labels are in Indian names, a language to which I am a stranger! My bill came up to about RM23, for I had piled so much food onto my plate! One plate for 3 types of side dishes ( with so many big pieces of chicken ) and the other plate with nothing but a huge mound of rice and Pappadam! Believe it or not, I had a second helping of the rice! How not to have more rice when the food was incessantly whetting my appetite! 🤣 G's bill was around RM15, which included the Teh O Ais Limau. Update 👉🏽 15 October We finally tried the Cheese Naan and Garlic Naan. Unlike the Cheese Naan in other places, this one does not have cheese oozing out of the naan when we tear it apart. The cheese had completely melted and wonderfully fused into the almost paper-thin naan, making it delightfully chewy, much like a thin crusted pizza. Never had we tried naan that was visually so stunning and appetizing as this! We find the Garlic Naan a little too garlicky though. It would have been perfect if they had sprinkled the garlic a bit more sparingly. but they claimed it was their speciality. Still, it was good! One thing is for sure, we will certainly be back for more home-cooked meals! Good job, Spices Garden! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😋😋😋

Cozy and comfortable environments. Clean toilets and friendly staff. Great food! Love their evening snacks and teas. Variety of food options available for non-veg and vegetarians. Definitely recommended.

Very recommended. The environment is really nice and food is the best. Briyani here was really good and spicy. We had a wonderful time here with family and the price is moderate but worth the taste.
