More Comments at Google MapLet's make this clear. I RARELY ever rates a 5-star for any restaurants. Reason for that is because there's always something that can be improved. Yes, while the services and atmosphere here is just alright, in fact even closer to a 3-star perhaps, however the value and the story of this old shop really makes it up and pushes some points higher than what meets the eye. As for the food, the Char Siew... Impeccable. I've yet to taste better char siews in my life, and I've been to quite a few places. The boss who operates the place is superbly friendly, they just look rather serious when they are working. If you talk to them or joke a little, they'd actually respond in a very friendly manner. It's one of those places that I would crave and would make time just to go back for the taste and memories. HIGHLY recommended to give it a go, deserves a special trip if you're from other states or overseas.
Be prepared to wait, especially during lunch hours. Ask for half-fatty-half-lean for both charsiew and roasted pork. You can skip the chicken. Food service is fast. Soup is nice, especially the black beans soup. Park at the basement of D'alamanda nearby for only Rm2 for first 3 hours.
Excellent Chinese roast pork, bbq pork, sour vegetable, poached kampung chicken and braised pork knuckle.. The roast pork is out of this world with a thin layer of crispy crunchy skin, and the right amount of fat. Their bbq pork is juicy, melt in your mouth! Expect long queue during lunch hour!
