A real gem. So very glad I was in the area and stumbled upon this nondescript stall. The noodles were very springy, quite unlike the usual texture you'll find elsewhere; and the flavours were very pleasing. Moreover, the minced meat and pork liver were very nicely done - though I'm not usually a liver kinda guy, I couldn't resist giving them a try and they were 👍🏻. Last but not least, the soup was amazing - and how I wished I had asked for a bigger bowl! (I did enquire after my meal coz I noticed some other patrons having the large bowls of soup with their noodles, but turned out they had ordered the 小碗面 actually.) Definitely coming back for more, though it's kinda out of the way for me. 😋

My new favorite bak chor mee from now onward, I like the flavorful soup and the texture of the meepoh is just what I like.

This legendary Bah Chor Mee used to take residence at a unassuming corner coffeeshop at Opal Crescent. They then shifted to Marsiling Mall, but now, the prodigal BCM returns to Serangoon - at the corner of Tai Thong Crescent and Macpherson Road. The uncle from before has since retired (**4th June hearsay he reopened in Opal Crescent 🤷‍♂️), but my bowl prepared by the new gentlemen reminded me of Opal Crescent days, lacking nothing in comparison with the memory of how it tasted back then. Mee sua was cooked perfect. Even after taking my time through my meal, it didn't get soggy nor mushy. The ability to al dente mee sua and not overcook it is my test of the cooks ability when it comes to noodles - Oh a heads up, they don't serve ketchup but their combination of vinegar, sauce from the mushrooms and and soup provided the salty, sour and sweet notes so much so you won't miss your ketchup (I know I didn't 🤤). The black magic of their secret mushroom sauce is key to a truly delectable bowl of noodles. Their soup is prepared with both pork AND chicken hence the richness and sweetness that is missing from regular BCM stalls. Though the 小碗面 is pricey, but even after devouring 4, pieces of liver. There were still a few pieces left! That alone should be self-explanatory with regards to the quantity of the rest of the ingredients. Pouring boiling soup over raw liver let's its flavour grow richer the further you journey into your 小碗面 encounter. And from that, you realize... That this is unlike any, other, bowl of noodles and soup. So what are you waiting for? Head down, buckle up, hand them your $7, and get ready for Macpherson Minced Meat Noodle (Bah Chor Mee) III : The Tai Thong Generation. **p.s the drink stall is quite a ripoff.
