Singapore｜Poon Nah City Home Made Noodle

A very well known ban mian stall located in a decrepit mall that has seen better days. Soup is full of umami flavour. Noodles are cooked just right, always al dente. The abalone slices were a bit chewy but these were replacement for the pacific clams that ran out. The two prawns were mid sized, fresh and sweet. They stinge on the ikan bilis though. Chilli packs quite a bit of heat but goes well with the noodles. And they give you sayur manis. All in, this has got to be in the Top 5 in Singapore. I’ll be back to try their Mee Hoon Kueh.

Banmian was really satisfying. Nice chewy bite and quite substantial. Even small bowl was filled with soup, fish slices and noodle. Was too excited to eat before I decided to take a photo halfway through the bowl.

When I went to the floor that had this stall and saw that there was people living in the same floor, I didn’t really have the best of expectations, but the food here is surprisingly quite good. I had the Pig Kidney Mee Sua with some Luncheon Meat on the side and a drink from some other stall, the luncheon meat was really crunchy and meaty and the noodles was just the perfect flavour for me to finish the whole thing. Overall, surprisingly good noodles all for like $10 at the most per pax. Would come again.
