Came on a Saturday at noon and queued for an hour. Very good plate of CKT with wokhey, lard flavour and juicy hum. Great balance of textures with the taugey too.

The CKT is sinful, decadent and has the traditional flavours shining through every bit of the plate. Although just a tad on the sweet side but I ain’t faulting this one bit cos it takes a hell lot to keep the tradition and recipe alive and passed down thru’ the generations and for that the price is well below the premium this food commands. So the next time, I am just going to wait patiently in line till it’s my turn to receive my plate at the altar of CKT.

This is probably the most enjoyable plate of fried kway teow or char kway teow (CKT) I have eaten. It is also the most wok-hei plate of CKT I have eaten. There is both savouriness and sweetness in the dish and yet very delicate and balanced in the taste. There is actually plenty of fried pork lard pieces in it (providing the crisp), although it may not be obvious looking at it. I also like it that there is generous amount of beansprouts - giving the dish the crunch. It is pure enjoyment down to the last bit.
