Singapore｜No. 18 Zion Road Fried Kway Teow

The Char Kway Teow was excellent, I ordered a reasonable portion for $8 and added extra cockles for an additional $2. The texture of the noodles were chewy and there was an ample amount of ingredients. The "wok hei" was adequate, and the entire dish was not too oily or greasy. The food court gave a nostalgic vibe, reminiscent of a 80's hawker centre, and the service was adequate. Do be prepared to queue if you decide to try out this 1-mechelin star hawker, as he is the only one frying up the yummy dishes and he almost gets no rest due to the queues all day long. The only turn-off for me was the inclusion of religion in his signboard, I felt that there was really no need for it since this was a hawker centre and not a church - I didn't need to have religion shoved down my throat in order to eat a bowl of noodles. Also, there was an inclusion of a Buddhist altar at his counter, which made it rather confusing for anyone who read the proselytising on the signboard and saw the statues on his counter top. Beyond that, the Kway Teow was yummy and a must try for anyone who enjoys local fare.

Great CKT - really tasty with generous portions, including the lard balls, eggs, and Chinese sausage. It was super tasty!!! Note that they are cash only and that they open slightly later than their advertised time (although people do start queuing early - would recommend doing so!).

Short 15 mins wait on a Saturday afternoon. Just like memory served, still as delicious. My plate was at 5$ only, plenty of cockles, plenty of Chinese sausage. Deeply flavored, proper plate.
