This stall keep appearing in social media recently. And it happened to open when I was there so I went to order one to try. During ordering, the uncle ask if I can wait? He said in Chinese: "If you can wait, then you order". Haha! It took about 30 mins for the noodle to be ready. And the noodles was amazing. Definitely worth the waiting.

Woke up earlier in the morning on a rest day, and decided to make a trip to eat the best Mee Pok in the west (Taman Jurong) and I'm very happy I did that! This is certainly one of the best mee pok I've tasted since my last favourite place--which is Song Kee Teochew Fishball Noodle in Newton Hawker Centre. The highlight of this meepok, is the "Meepok" i.e., the noodles is springy with a nice tautness to it. Though most people think this is a small deal, to me this it is a deal-breaker. If the noodle is not bouncey and springy nothing else matters. Having more prawns, abalone, mermaid meat, more liver, more whatever--don't make any difference. Next for me, got to be the "tang chye" in the soup and also you can ask for it in your noodle. It gives it an authentic smell and flavour (well at least in my childhood). The chilli that goes with the noodle dry, is authentic, not too spicy, and it has the original flavour (not too prawny nor too sour). The soup that comes with it, is also very authentic, and it gives the meepok meal a nice wholesome feel. Loved it! Of course the fishball is smooth and quite bouncey (slightly softer than the ones given by Song Kee Teochew Noodles). It does not taste like it is factory made, loaded with flour instead of fish paste. Same thing goes with fish cake, it has the natural fish cake smell, not factory made, but taste authentic. You got to go before 10.30am or else when it approaches 11am onwards there will be a queue, and the waiting time is going to take at least 35 mins or longer. Even when there isn't a crowd, it will take at least 15 mins, they do take their time to make a good bowl of noodle for you. There is a dedication in what they do. They open early 7am, and they will close before 2pm. And they are closed on Sat, Sun and Mon!!! Take note. They are 3 old men, trying to keep up with their strength, and not work long hours! And we all can understand that don't we?!

Excellent fish ball noodles. Noodles are well cooked. Fish balls, fish cakes, prawns, livers are all fresh. $4 for the ingredients, definitely value for money. Very long queue in the morning and the uncle taking orders will pre-warned about the waiting time.
