More Comments at Google MapGuan Kee Wanton Noodles was founded in 1945. If you mentioned wanton noodles in Klang Valley in the early days, I believe most people would think of "Kuan Kee". Personally, I really like the wanton noodles and various toppings here. The wonton noodles here are made by hand, it tastes "bouncy", and the sauce is old-fashioned, unlike many other restaurants that are heavy on lard, so it tastes delicious. The home-made barbecued thick-cut char siu here is even more delicious. I like the taste and texture, and I won’t get tired after eating too much. The sauce aroma of mushroom chicken feet is also the type I like, but I feel that the stew is not soft enough. If it is softer, I will like it more. Since there are relatively few tables here, it may take some time to wait for a table, and if there are few people, you may also need to take a table.
I tried pork and dumpling wonton (their signature menu). It’s very good, a comfort food. The noodle is cooked with soy sauce so the taste is sweet. I’m not sure everyone can enjoy eat this sweet noodle, but worth to try.
This site should be designated a cullinary heritage site. Signage is obsecure by hawkers out front. You have to be born of yesteryears or a foodie to want to eat here badly to find it. Seating inside is limited to 6 or so tables. I arrived at high noon and sat at the last empty table. Had a charsiew wanton noodle - as good as the 'ol days - super. Wolfed it down and left to allow other visitors to sample this wonder. Many foreigners, you can from their dialects and accents - all pleasant. Returned with colleagues the following week for brunch - empty table available. Happy!
