Singapore｜133 Penang Authentic

Nice to find another good Penang char kway teow option. Some might say it’s not truly authentic but I feel it’s as good as it gets here in Singapore and it’s good enough in my book. Might just be the richer taste of duck eggs and more lard oil that makes the difference.

Really delicious food, queues might be long during the weekends, but worth it! Had the Penang Char Kuay Teow which was surprisingly not too oily. It hit the all right savoury notes, with lup cheong (Chinese sausage) and beanspouts. Also had the prawn mee which had a slightly lighter but still tasty broth. Ingredients were generous at an affordable price point. Definitely visiting the stall again (when there's a less queue perhaps!)

Ordered a bowl of dry prawn noodles and a plate of penang kuay tiao… Both are good. The soup from the $4 dry prawn noodles was very rich in prawn flavour as you can tell by the orangey colour. The ingredients given was also quite generous. As for the penang kuay tiao, very good wok hei as expected from it. It was on the pricier side though, even with lesser meat than the bowl of prawn noodles, it is still more expensive at $4.50
