Singapore｜Li Yuan Mee Pok

Ordered the mushroom minced meat noodles ($5) as well as the dumpling soup ($4). Not much of a queue at around 1:30 pm on a weekday, but there was still a steady stream of customers. Noodles were cooked perfectly, with a balanced flavour from the chilli, vinegar and fragrant crispy lard. Some may prefer more chilli and vinegar. Portion size of the noodles were on the smaller side, but the generous toppings more than made up for it. The $5 bowl should be enough to satisfy most. Soup was slightly sweet, with sliced cabbage, lard and minced pork accompanying the dumplings. Dumplings were slightly doughy but still well seasonsed and satisfying.

My go-to unconventional meepok spot. Tried both outlets (here and tradehub) and the quality is the same. Their standard mushroom bakchor mie is also very good but whenever I’m here I go big. My favorite is always the the dry shoyu version for its slightly sweeter taste. This time I was a little more adventurous and I had their miso soup version which was also good. Worth adding noodles especially if you’re hungry, and ask for a bowl of soup on the side. I’d say that their chili sauce quality isn’t what it used to be though.

Tried the Crayfish meepok. It's omg yummy. $10 and well worth it. Minced, sliced pork and pork lard heaped over al dente meepok topped with a whole crayfish(Slipper lobster). The noodles were nicely seasoned without the usual overly sweet ketchup-y mess favored by others.
