Super duper delicious aromatic chicken. A stall with very long queue. The aromatic chicken is thoroughly marinated with flavourful spice. The tender meat is deep fried nicely. What also made it extremely popular is that with $6.50, the chicken drumstick offered is huge! Larger than my palm. A super good meal. Will be regularly patronize it. Advised to go early to queue. Only one staff is manning the stall. Queue moves slow.

Ordered the mutton Rendang $7.50. Spicy wife delivers flavour!!! What great depth of flavours from the Rendang. Slightly sweet from the onions, and heat from the ginger and chilli. Lovely spices, definitely star anise and cloves, and I think I detect cardamom and a little tumeric? Sambal felt homemade and was lovely with quite a bit of kick and goes amazingly well with the already punchy rendang. Peanuts and Ikan billis was crunchy and generous, and egg adds yet another level of richness. A couple of very slight negatives - mutton is not super tender, and I bit into quite a number of star anise and clove bits, so texturally it’s not fine dining. But boy does the flavours make up for it! You are unlikely to go hungry with this. Great for big appetites! Queued for 15mins for this, but worth it!!! Deserves at least a Michelin recommendation IMHO.

Just the smell of it at the stall area is enough to attract you to it, and the long queue validates it. The aromatic (fried) chicken is the Malaysian nasi lemak style type which has desiccated coconut fried with it on the surface. You can tell there's real effort in making sure that the egg is fry up to maintain a runny yolk for all, it's really in the details. Chilli not spicy but it's good with a slight tangy-ness. The main star - chicken: Firstly the owner/cook fries it up and ensures cooking time with a timer and I spotted a surface thermometer to ensure consistency in cooking. Thumbs up. Digging in to the fragrant decent-size chicken leg, I realised it is marinated well with some spices and herbs marinate still incorporated in the chicken as if it was stuffed. Yums. Rice: ohh the rice tasted so creamy. Yums x2. Better than the ever popular Malaysian nasi lemak nearby in a kopitiam. Just be prepared to queue at peak hours, the male owner operates solo but is serving pretty quickly so the queue does move. Owner sometimes make small jokes with straight face 🤭 $6.50 for chicken options $7.50 for mutton rendang (which was alr sold out by my turn at the queue around 12 noon)
