One of the better hawker centres out there that's relatively tourist free. Classic options include nanyang coffee, curry rice, braised pork, kway chap and white beehoon.

The renovated market is bustling at night. There are plenty of seats and they are well spaced out. The environment spurs one to enjoy a meal outside with friends. The waft of delicious local food and the diversity of cuisines is wide. Plenty of favourites here like the White Beehoon Seafood which offers a wok-hei flavour with every bite. Let the noodles soak up the sauce and every bite deserves repeats. The satay was wonderfully charred and the portions were thick and meaty. The satay stall also sells BBQ chicken wings which was the usual fare we find in many hawker centres in SG. We ordered Chinese rojak which was served by a friendly one-man-operation auntie who was friendly and bubbly in personality. The sauce was not too sweet and the ingredients included cucumbers, turnip, pineapple, tau pok, yu char kueh, topped with crunch peanuts and an irresistibly sweet/spicy/tangy sauce that coated each piece of ingredient perfectly. The beef soup stall is not to be missed because the mixed organ soup was worth $5. The soup was decidedly moreish with each spoonful. The owner understands that it takes long hours spent to boil the stock to reap the beefy goodness from beef bones. The dry beef kway teow was a gravy-based dish but came with generous beef cuts. Come early because the queue for this stall can be long. The oyster egg dish is from Tian Tian Fa which also sells black and white carrot cake. The egg is crispy thanks to the owner ensuring that the edges turn golden brown before serving it up. For $8, there's a generous amount of plump oysters too. The dessert stall sells an array of chin-chow-based desserts and also ice kachang. The refreshing nata de coco + chin chow and seacoconut with chin chow are very affordable and came in generous servings.

So many great stalls to whet one’s appetite. here’s one for the Kway chup fans
