More Comments at Google MapVery tasty food, non- touristy taste as they cater for the local crowd. Rusty seating & broken floor with water ponding. Careful not to step too hard on the floor if you do not want the smell from the water to stain on you. Forget the atmosphere, just eat & go! Don’t forget the Yam rice!
🐟 Fish: Really fresh! Love the sauce and the fried garlic. 🤩 They are generous with the fried garlic and green onions. Staff is also friendly and will recommend which fish is good. 🐷 Bak Kuk Teh: Herbal soup that is not peppery. It's quire fragrance and comforting. The highlight for this was their meat- tender and soft, not the hard and tough kind. 👍🏻 Their BKT has pig liver & small intestines too. Head down earlier, otherwise some of their add-ons like youtiao & golden mushroom must ran out. 🫛四角豆: Not sure what's its call in English, but seems like this veggie is more often seen in Msia and rarely in SG. The belachan goes well with the crunchy fresh texture. Nice!
Rating: 5 / 5 stars 🤩 : supremely delicious 🤧 : parking, location This review comes a year late, but still revalidated from a recent visit. Not convenient to get to, thankfully, otherwise I might just be having this every other week. Parking isn’t pleasant given the limited space and tight road. Grab is the way to go. There wasn’t much of a crowd even on a Sunday afternoon a year ago, but it’s much more crowded in recent times. There are plenty of tables that stretch all the way to the back but there is still a wait during peak meal times. However, I reckon it is worth the wait. Once you get a table, you proceed to the counter to place your order. If you’re opting for a fish dish, this is where you pick your variety and size of fish. If you’re undecided, the team’s recommendations are often spot on and they do not try to pull a fast one on you. I’m glad that they are generally patient too. The elderly boss is a friendly and candid fella. Food arrives fairly quickly. Whilst I really appreciate the hearty and herb-based BKT, I would kill for the steamed fish. Fish was steamed to perfection and the garlic soy sauce that dressed the fish was all I needed with bowls of white rice. Needless to say, I’ll always be back for more.
