Eng Kee Bak Kut Teh has been around for a very, very long time. I recall eating it some 30 years ago, and have only in the recent 2 years revisited this stall that has left me many fond childhood memories. I always remembered going somewhere in Ang Mo Kio for bah kut teh (BKT) since I was young. And as a child naturally your taste palates arent as refined as an adult, so i didn't appreciate herbs as much as I do now, and it shows cos I recall not the BKT from Eng Kee but rather the pig trotters aka 'Dao You Te Kah'. My standard of a awesome and proper pig trotter from BKT stalls was always set from my childhood memory of "When you wipe your mouth and the black sauce doesn't come off." Meaning it had to be THICK, sweet (clearly why as a child I preferred it) and have that interaction of trying to not get your hands dirty - though that was part of the whole experience of a good pig trotter too. And even till now, Eng Kee maintains that standard for its dao you te kah. Personally, I reckon this is their star dish here contrary to what their name suggests. Furthermore at just $7.50 for such a huge portion, and the fact almost every table in that end of the coffeeshop is having one makes it hard to argue otherwise. Their BKT is above average at best, and their soup could some days be on point and other days be saltier than expected. I would encourage people to try their trotters, and partake in my childhood memories of lip smacking action. But remember to bring more tissue, or better yet some wet wipes. @goodfoodwrite - instagram & YouTube

This is my favorite stall for bkt, been having it for at least a good 20 years. The quality of food is good and price is reasonable, the must try dish would be the braised pork knuckle in savoury dark soy sauce. The taste cannot be found anywhere else in sg. I did a take away of 2 x Pork Rib , 1 x Pork Knuckle and a Salted Veg for $27, definitely can feed more than 2 pax.

Review 🍜 Food wise: Absolutely huge portion I was shock when I see the food! ✨ Ambience wise: Coffee shop ambience 🤵🏻 Service wise: Staff was friendly! ⏰ Waiting Time: 15 mins. 💵 Price wise: $7.50, 0.50 white rice
