14 Oct 2023 : Recieved this luxurious box of wedding pastries cos my neighbour of 20 years is having her daughther's 過大禮 today. I felt so blessed to have this box of auspicious cakes and truly wished Maureen and her husband a blissful marriage. 💖💖💖💖💖 Thye Moh Chan and Bengawan Solo were also my invitation cakes for my own wedding. Thye Moh Chan never fail to consistently produce the trusted taste of tradition and bliss.

I highly recommend the 'Yuan Yang Savoury' pastry as it is a combination of their salty and sweet bean filling with slightly spicy pork floss filling inside the baked pastry skin. This is their traditional outlet and has a big following. However, the snotty attitude of the counter staff can be a complete 'turn off' for new customers. I would say be the 'bigger person' here and ignore their bad customer service. Focus on their 'traditional' pastries they are selling and you will be 'rewarded'. Alternatively, patronize their other stores that have more professionally trained staff at the Jewel or Paragon. Forget about their new and fusion style biscuits or pastries that are not freshly baked. These are not worth tasting.

Traditional 潮州style pastries are well made and authentic. The crispy crust reminds me a bit of Beijing 自来红moon cake. If you like the traditional Chinese crispy crust pastries , this is a good place. I can understand some comments regarding the subpar service. Yep, the sales person expects ppl to know what to order.
