Singapore｜Hock Hai (Hong Lim) Curry Chicken Noodle

Quite a popular stall in Bedok Interchange and usually has snaking queues on weekends, when I tend to visit. Line moves fast, however. Decided to order the curry chicken bee hoon. Really like the robust curry soup.Generous mound of ingredients - good chicken pieces, a huge potato, you tiao etc. Quantity of bee hoon is also good. Overall, this is quite a filling breakfast/lunch.

Had cravings for something different for a Sun dinner & we ordered the curry noodles & satay bee hoon. Plenty of chicken in the medium size curry chicken noodles. The chicken were quite tender and the curry was really tasty. A bit too spicy for me (I can’t take too spicy), but my hubby found it to be just right. The satay sauce in the satay bee hoon was also good and flavourful. Unfortunately, I couldn’t eat the squid due to my eczema. My hubby found the squid to be done just right. He mentioned that at many satay bee hoon places, the squid were often a bit too hard. Kudos to Hock Hai for getting it right. I was a bit puzzled why there weren’t any pork slices in the satay bee hoon. If not, the satay bee hoon would be perfect. A really satisfying meal for two. I would suggest to have a bowl of cooling Ching Tng to end the meal on a perfect note.

Curry chicken Mee mixed with Bee Hoon. That’s my standard order each and every time. I am back frequently because I know and expect the consistent taste each time. Don’t be alarmed by the long queue that stretches along the side wall of the shop, it moves fast enough for you not to take notice. The curry is thick and creamy, and best of all the chicken served is poached smooth.
