Singapore｜Siglap Kway Chap

Have been eating the kway chup at Siglap Corner Coffee Shop for many years and it’s one of the best ones around. It’s not just a food stall, it’s an institution. Kway zhup is smooth and broth is flavorful, braise is authentic and not packed with msg, offals and ingredients are clean and fresh. All makes for a great kway zhup meal. Uncle and auntie tending the stall are always friendly to their customers and we often chatted about our day as they prepare or pack the food orders. You just feel an overwhelming sense of willingness to support them. But that’s easy because the kway chup is really really good. Wishing them many more years to come and thank you for the great service, great kway zhup and they represent the true spirit of Singaporean food and hawker culture.

My go to place for Kway Chap. Teochew uncle always there. Got a portion for one. I always ask for pork skin as they do it well. Generous portion for mixed plate for one person $5. Chili is good.

Craved for kway chap and this place came up when we searched for good kway chap in Siglap area. This was definitely one of the best one I ever had (though I have not tried many to be honest) - the innards and skin were fresh, very clean and totally no smell at all with very nice texture. Salted veggies hidden under the meats was nicely salty and tasty with nice amount of garlic! Braised sauce is not the super herbal type, but the flavour was still very well balanced and tasty as well and went perfect with rice and kway. No wonder the stall had many regulars. I will definitely go back again as well! There is a constant queue but they are very efficient at serving so would not wait so long at all.
