Singapore｜Ng Kuan Chilli Pan Mee

First try at this ban mian and the presentation had already won me over. But once I had mixed everything evenly I could already tell it was gonna be one pretty unforgettable experience. And true enough, the noodles tasted amazing with the blend of egg yolk and chilli paste, which was only elevated by the rest of the other stuff that came in the bowl. Every bite was sublime and I just love the added crunch provided by the generous servings of crispy fried ikan bilis, shallots and chopped garlic; the taste of the egg yolk on the ban mian somewhat resembled that of a nicely done carbonara that's just missing the grated parmesan. 😋 Do note that the chilli can be a little challenging for some, so proceed with caution. Definitely recommending this to ban mian lovers (especially those who love chilli).

A simple restaurant serving noodle with few variations. Open till late night and open quite early in the morning. I recommend the mee with the pork one! It's super tasty just like abura soba Singapore Version 😆. I enjoyed their food and they also has the toilet and pretty clean too. Very crowded in the night esp. Late time. Very organized system and the owner is very friendly. Can see their passion in making your food. Good price too! Taste spicy level acceptable. Sitting outside is better coz if you sit near the kitchen it's very hot. Just right next to Ibis Hotel Bencoolen.

Ordered the dry ban mian ($6.80) and it was definitely one of the better dry ban mian out there in Singapore. The chilli was the highlight of the dish - spicy, fragrant and packed with umami flavour, and together with the ikan bilis, fried shallots and runny egg yolk, every mouth of ban mian was so yummy 😋
