This is a mandatory stop whenever I visit Selera. A bit more controlled this visit. Only got a few skewers, sotong (squid) body, cheesy cocktail sausage, cheesy meat ball, chicken nuggets and of cos the must-hav chicken wings! Somehow thus particular skewers are nicer and fried to perfection!!!!

Tl;dr delicious local fare in a rustic traditional setting Along a row of shophouses, sits the unassuming Old Chang Kee Coffee House. Step inside and prepare to be transported back in time. Here you will find the genesis of the ubiquitous curry puff. But the coffee house goes beyond the usual Old Chang Kee fare — sotong balls, chicken wraps on sticks, etc — and serves other delicious delights. We had the dry laksa (heavenly!), the blue pea rice nasi lemak (a happy twist on a national treasure), the curry chicken with flower bread (what’s not to love about free flow curry gravy), and finished off with some local desserts (aiyu jelly and bubur cha cha). Everything was of good quality and good value for money. Had a wonderful experience with my family. Strongly recommend it!

The chicken curry was rich but not overly lemak. The prata it came with seemed to be of the frozen variety, which was a pity but, I guess, to be expected given it's not a prata place. I probably should have gotten it with rice or bread instead, which were the other two options. I thoroughly enjoyed the bubur chacha, even though it was on the sweet side. I will come back to try the other items on the unexpectedly varied menu. Perhaps my favourite thing about the place is its heritage location and ambience. Note to self and anyone reading this: they don't open at night.
