Their chilli is quite spicy and complements the wet noodles very well 👍 Its the dry kind of hokkien mee with wok hey. Sad it doesn't have pork lard. Queue may be long but it's fast! Slightly pricey but worth cause it's so tasty!! $5 portion is barely enough honestly
The queue can get long during peak hours but it moves pretty quickly unless you happen to be waiting for the next batch of noodles. Otherwise, the ladies there will take your order and it’s insane how the auntie can memorise who ordered how much and the respective quantity. Be prepared with your order and be alert when the aunties signals you for your order. 😅 Coming back to the dish itself, I absolutely love the wok hey taste. Their Hokkien Mee is on the moist side, with sufficient gravy. The belacan chilli packs a punch! I love Hokkien Mee chilli that’s on the sour side. Not a fan of hawkers who serve dark red sambal with Hokkien mee. WHY THO?! Oh yes, if you want pork lard toppings, pls ask for it. It’s damn good!!! 🤤
Recently included in Michelin’s gourmet bib for 2023, but also my childhood Hokkien mee. Still delicious after many years with light wok hey, stemmed in flavourful broth to bring out the best in a wet Hokkien mee. With inflation, seems like portions might run slightly small, so consider ordering a bigger size. Included prawns, sotong, eggs and noodles Photo - $8, enough for 1 ish pax
