Singapore｜Fu Ming Cooked Food 福明熟食 (#01-49)

Definitely my all time favourite fried carrot cake stall. It has so much flavour in every dish that was served. Each dish had generous amount of ingredients to it to really amplify the flavour. Combined with the dark soy sauce to add a touch of sweetness, you can be assured of a really good plate of fried carrot cake. What’s more, it’s one of the eggiest version that I have seen so far in Singapore.

Arrived at 1.15pm and there was no queue. Ordered black and white fried carrot cake at $5.00 with chilli. To be honest I have always preferred white version of carrot cake. But this time, to my surprise, the black carrot cake blew me away. So many layers of flavour, the black carrot cake was sweet, savoury and spicy with a little bit of charred taste. The white carrot cake was savoury and spicy, with adequate chai poh (preserved radish). Overall a good carrot cake but a little oily.

This is surely one of the best carrot cake in town. I do and only visit this shop for carrot cake to ease my cravings. Just that the owner refuse to customize a bit, such as adding eggs, and making the white carrot cake more crispy. Overall was good, they do sell handmade dumpling too at a affordable $2 per piece.
