Rating: 4.7 / 5 stars 🤩 : good flavour, reasonable portion 🤧 : - An excellent alternative to its competitor in B1, and if i’m honest, possibly a tastier option too. Despite being run by a new generation of hawkers, I’m glad to report that the authentic flavours and key characteristics of this popular local dish is well retained. I would consider this style of Hokkien Mee to be on the wetter side, but certainly not as wet as Hainan’s. The noodles were cooked for long enough to absorb the richness of the broth without being too soggy. Overall flavours are superbly balanced with fairly apparent wok hei. At $5, portion size is reasonable for the smallest portion. Apart from the chunks of pork, you get some pieces of sotong and two whole shelled prawns. One thing to note - I found the chilli to be quite mild in terms of both heat and flavour. This wasn’t a deal breaker for me, as whilst I enjoy having chilli in my food, I’ve never found the need for chilli in Hokkien mee. It is no different this time. Whilst there generally isn’t a long queue per se, you can expect to wait 5-10 mins for a couple of orders to be cooked in a batch. A definite must try, especially for those who have frequented Hainan @ B1.

Golden mile food centre is blessed with 2 legendary hokkien mee stalls. Youfu being one of them. In fact I prefer this wet version than the other one. The chilli is very good as well. Love the stock that comes with this version of hokkien mee.

The Fried Hokkien Mee is nice. 👍🏾👍🏾 Actually you can just using spoon to scoop and it. The rich prawn and pork stock makes it very delicious. Their signboard has changed, previously it was a yellow signboard. It is located at a corner where it is pretty near to the washroom. There are 3 sizes; small, medium and large. The one that I am having is small which costs $5.
