One of the best BCM I ever eaten. Went at 10am and queue was already snaking long. Auntie and uncle were super friendly and nice, gave me extra soup for my takeaway. Soup was full of flounder (dried sole) and noodles were chewy right and the chilli for dry noodle was awesome!!! This is my second time visiting them and I swear there will be more to come!

Ordered the #1 - one bowl mee pok and another bowl mee kia. Both in dark sauces. Waited for 25 minutes during lunch hours. Very enjoyful meal! Noodles are cooked on the softer side but still good. On top of dark sauce, they added some other sauce too. Not sure what they have added but definitely taste wonderful! You can request for additional pork lard and the pork lard is heavenly! Crunchy but light - they will disintegrate in your mouth. $5 for a small bowl is a tad on the expensive side... well they are famous and the food is tasty so I guess they can charge a bit more.

We’re back at our “preferred” BCM Stall (永新). Seventh in the queue. And our standard orders - two bowls of Number 1, Mee Pok Large (more ingredients less noodles), one with more Chilli and Vinegar, the other Normal and BOTH MORE PORK LARD! Stall Holder and helper knew that already.😂😂😂 “This time no takeaway?” Assistant asked. Replied that children no longer WFH. Hahaha. Today I witnessed the Stall Holder cooking the fish balls as the “ready stock” was running out. Oooo … so nice to see the fish balls bubbling (看到都爽). Stall Holder jokingly said he could sell me $10 worth of fish balls to take away. We always have nice exchanges while he prepares our orders, despite the long queue. While bringing the orders to our table, the fragrance of the BCM sauces caused wifey to comment 没吃就溜口水。😋😋😋 You can see from the photo the amount of ingredients in each of our bowl - fish balls (reason for us patronizing this stall frequently), liver, meatballs, fish cake slices, her giao, minced pork, sliced lean pork, pork lard and yellow mee pok. The blend of sauces, vinegar, Chilli with pork lard is so nice. And you can surely identify which bowl belonged to wifey. Somehow when his assistant did the cooking, she couldn’t quite achieve the same taste in gravy. The Mee Pok was cooked very well TODAY - not soft nor hard (al dente). Must qualify - this guy is inconsistent with the noodle texture. He doesn’t have an ISO like in some place we visited. The soup was clear and with fair amount of minced pork (consistent). Pretty nice - I always finished up the soup. Even with the recent price increase, we felt that the $6 bowl is really well worth it. By the way, they are closed on Monday and Tuesday.
