Singapore｜Tiong Bahru Market

I grew up in this area and knew some of the stalls which have been around for 50 years or longer. Those are shown in the photos. Some of the stall owners used to live around the same neighborhood as me. However the quality of food had degraded over the years in general. There were short cut taken in order to cope with the demands

Another favorite food center with the locals. There will always be people around! This expansive food center will have all the typical foods you'd find in any other food center but I do believe the food here is just a touch above the average hawker center. A few things I would say are a must get are the prawn mee from Hong Heng, a stall specializing in prawn mee; and the fish balls from one of the fish ball vendors. The prawn mee was massive and full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The fish balls were also delicious as they weren't too salty and had amazing texture and bounce when you bit in to them. If you have a chance, go grab some otah as well!

Revisit and nostalgia my often visit place when i was young. Ordered their most famous Chee Kwe. I think now 2nd generation oredy. Order bakchor mee too. Not too good.
