More Comments at Google MapIt used to be at Blk 322 HG A5. Like their mee robus, nasi lemak with beef rendang, chilli brinjal, etc ... Am glad to rediscover them at Hougang Hainanese Village Centre. Enjoyed the mee robus ($3.50). As good as before👍. Highly recommended. Business hours: 0430 to 1300. Closed on Fridays.
Long queue at 7.45am. beef rendang very good. Rice coconut fragrant. Fish fillet not nice. Chilli ok. Begedil soso. Chicken wing not nice. Located at 2nd level, hawker centre
Friendly and nice staff! Decided to try their Nasi Lemak and compare it to the long standing Yi Liu Xiang at 02-30. Love that the rice has more moisture and stronger coconut fragrance (more lemak). Their sambal is sweet and spicy while YXL’s more on salty savoury fragrant profile. Set C Nasi Lemak ($5) comes with a homemade chicken wing well seasoned with spices, thick fish fillet and even a hot dog thrown in. Set default comes with ikan bilis, generous omelette egg slice, and Japanese cucumber slice. Though YLX now offers Chicken wing, it’s only half a ready-to-eat wing at $1 to add on. If you like a Nasi Lemak with homely chicken wings, this is for you. Love how I can also add on begedel ($0.50) and large otah ($1.20). Best thing about the Nasi Lemak here is, it’s served on real plates instead of a styrofoam box. To me, this is a compelling reason to choose Chai Chee Nasi Lemak over YLX any time. Also love how they have delicious looking Lontong and Mee Rebus and sambal rice which also looks yummy. I will be back!
