Malacca, Malaysia｜Wilson Chicken Rice

This is first time I come to this Wilson chicken rice branch. We ordered 2 pax chicken rice combo, topup with braised tofu and eggs. Our verdict; Fresh chicken, perfectly cooked rice, fragrant soup with hint of refreshing ginger. Tofu and eggs could be braised deeper though, as the soy sauce is the thin and brown kind. Suitable for people who like original taste and not too heavy seasoning.

Just had this for the first time last Monday. This is the best chicken rice I have ever tasted in my life. Nothing from my hometown Ipoh, nor from the Klang Valley can compare to this chicken rice. The rice itself may look like normal white rice, but don't be fooled....it is packed with umami taste. The chicken meat itself is similar to any other stalls, but the roasted chicken skin is crispy like Peking duck skin. The slice of tomato does not add to the tastiness, but it is a signature look for Wilson Chicken Rice. The iced Chinese tea is Jasmine tea rather than the normal low quality tea served by other stalls. Come for the food, therefore do not expect service more than your local hawker or expect the ambience of a fine dining restaurant.

Meat are tender and de-boned. The rice ball has good fragrance. Definitely a must-go when in Melaka.
