The food at this restaurant is delicious, fresh ingredients, reasonably priced, and large portions. The cooking method of Shenjiang tofu is simple but very delicious. Even though the curry pork is ordinary, it tastes really good. The curry exudes a strong aroma of fresh milk, which is amazing. The Fengwei Chicken Pot is braised chicken tenders in oyster sauce, but the chef added some curry leaves to give it a unique flavor.

The place is a hidden gems filled with Hainanese favourites. Dishes not to be missed are the Oyster noodles, mutton soup, beef Steamboat and the curry pie. The restaurant is very humble in terms of decor but it's clean and cool. Prices are reasonable too.

The once iconic Hainanese restaurant Golden Mansion has resurrected as Golden Soon after a 2 year hiatus. Thankfully many of their signature dishes are still available and cooked by the previous owner's sons. Re-opened 2 days before MCO 2.0, their takeaway was one of the few treats & joys of the lockdown. The staple must orders are the Beef Steamboat, Pork Rib Curry Pie (advance booking required), Oyster Noodles & Mutton Soup. The Beef Steamboat & Mutton Soup are both Hainanese specialties which will have you slurping till the last few drips of soup. Pork rib curry has a rich curry with tender pork ribs and a buttery pastry. Worth the 1min call a day in advance to order it. The humble interior masks a real Hainanese hidden gem. Glad to have this restaurant back again.
