A restaurant run by a Japanese couple with a helper that's reservation based. Wide selection of items, some are not so commonly found in other Japanese restaurants here. Good privacy between tables but place was slightly warm during my visit. Good food at reasonable prices, my top picks were the grilled oyster and the 7 appetizers sampler. It'd be perfect as a drinking place as well since there are a variety of alcohol and side dishes. There's a small section selling Japanese tableware. Friendly service by the owner, cash only unless total is RM200 and above.

A Japanese home style restaurant run by Aki and Kumi. They are super hospitable but make sure to call ahead first as it’s just the two of them. 90% of their clientele is Japanese, so they don’t particularly cater for non-Japanese, (make sure to ask them to translate their specials which are usually great) and it’s pricey compared to typical Japanese places. You won’t see their dishes at other restaurants though, so it’s definitely a different Japanese food experience. I love their salt yakisoba! An unusual flavor without the usual brown sweet/sour sauce but rich and savory They also have a great shochu and sake selection, though again at relatively expensive pricing. You can keep bottles there as well.

Little hide away Japanese eatery run by a husband and wife team. 1st thing they will inform you is that they do not serve sushi and sashimi. By reservation only and you will find the patrons are all Nihon-jin. Good home cooked taste and cozy izakaya style dining. Do not rush them as only one person manage the kitchen and another operate the front servicea.
